Our book has won a gold medal from the Axiom Business Awards the largest and most respected guidepost for business books in recognition of our work introducing the concepts of Transformative Resilience and Type Rs. It is an important acknowledgement that this is what will set people, leaders, businesses and communities apart and put us on a path to thriving and succeeding amidst today’s growing stress, disruption and change.

KICKING OFF THE SXSW CONFERENCE

We helped kick off SXSW with a talk on opening day about Type R and Transformative Resilience and today’s turbulence from Me Too to cyberattacks. We were grateful to be joined by a packed room of thoughtful participants. The conference also hosted Melinda Gates, Elon Musk, London’s Mayor Sadiq Khan and numerous others.

The WHO calls stress a 21st Century epidemic. We are pleased to hear from Harvard Business Review that our article on transformative resilience and stress has reached tens of thousands in the first couple of weeks and is among its most popular.

Our new book Type R: Transformative Resilience for Thriving in a Turbulent World was named one of 6 top reads by Success Magazine along with the important work of Dan Pink, NPR’s Anya Kamenetz and the NY Times’ John Leland.

TYPE R AT WORLD AFFAIRS COUNCIL, RAND, AND SEATTLE TOWN HALL

We kicked off our book tour with events at the LA World Affairs Council, RAND Corporation, Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors and Seattle Town Hall along with other local events in San Francisco, New York and London. The events ranged from focusing on looking at Type R organizational cultures to how Type R people, leaders, and businesses around the world are turning challenges into opportunities whether grappling with stress, business challenges or global issues like financial crisis and climate change.
